The 2007 Atlanta Magazine Dream Home is open from October 25 - November 18, 2007.
No detail will go unnoticed in the home, valued at over $2 million. Begun as a renovation business 10 years ago, Woodward Rhodes’ philosophy is built on authenticity, originality, and history. With so much homogeneous, new construction ravaging many neighborhoods, Woodward Rhodes strives to preserve the heritage and character of houses through interpretations of their previous incarnations. Exhaustive research and careful planning are staples, which assure that the designs, materials, and landscaping of each property remain true to the original structure, as well as the neighborhood.
The Dream Home will benefit the Historic Oakland Foundation. Oakland Cemetery was founded in 1850 by the City of Atlanta. A member of the City of Atlanta’s Parks, Recreations and Cultural Affairs Department, Oakland welcomes more than 30,000 visitors each year. While some come to visit loved ones who are buried here, many visit for recreation or other purposes. Some come to picnic, walk their dogs, jog, and bike through the cemetery daily. Others come to do research, both historical and genealogical. Oakland also hosts hundreds of artists and students each year who sketch, paint, and photograph the cemetery. We encourage you to visit their website at www.oaklandcemetery.com.
While supporting a great cause, your ticket purchase will also include a full year’s subscription to Atlanta Magazine and Atlanta Magazine’s HOME. We look forward to seeing you at the Dream Home.
